I keep having to remind myself that is a beginners book and yes, I would say it is that. The author mentions that several of the oils have medicinal properties, but she doesn't cite any references for these claims. Being someone who has studied much in the area of plants and raw materials, I am aware of the properties of the raw materials that I use in personal care products so for me, this is non-issue, but claims should always be backed up by evidence.She also mentions using only 100% therapeutic grade essential oils. Since there is no govenrning body that established standards of "therapeutic" grade essential oils, I believe this is a misconception. Yes, you should us a good quality essential oil, but the multi level marketing companies that sell their self report "therapeutic" grade are very price and do NOT need to be used in personal care products.
I purchase my essential oils from reputable companies and I buy them in bulk. They are all very high quality.
Another thing that she doesn't mention is that with colorants, you can use emulsifiers to help reduce the colored ring that can appear. But she may not have wanted to include this as this a true beginner's book.
This is an easy read, with few errors in it ( I think I only found one or two)

Great book! Loved it.
Very insightful
Amy provides great basic recipes and easy to follow guides in this book for beginners. Ingradient information is also very extensive and informative!
I guess this is good for a true beginner but I didn't learn anything new, unfortunately. The information is good, just not what I as looking for.
My opinion is that the book is OK. The writing is average, but the recipes look good and the novice should be successful by following the recipe and directions.
I wish more info. had been provided on safe essential oil usage.
Perfect for people who want to make their own bath bombs but don’t know where to start; lots of good information without being cluttered of confusing.
I would recommend this book for anyone wanting to learn how to make bath bombs. It is very informative and has beautiful photos throughout, making this one a favorite. Amy takes you through basic recipes to more intricate recipes that help with various skin conditions. The bombs I made from using this book turned out so much better than bombs I have purchased in the past!
